13th January,2019 A bonfire was lit on the auspicious occasion of Lohri which was celebrated here at Ashirwad. Mrs. Anju Bagga was the guest for the special occasion.
16th April, 2019 The students of Sat Paul Mittal School, Ludhiana visited Ashirwad for interaction with specially-abled children under the project 'Raabta'.
25th April, 2019 The children of Ashirwad went for a fun-filled trip at Hardy's World Amusement Park, Ludhiana. They were all in a jubilant mood and had a great time there.
30th September, 2019 A Super Navratri Mela 2019 was organized at Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana wherein the students of Ashirwad had organized an exhibition displaying the decorative items that had prepared on their own like diyas, ruffles, pots, candle stands, etc.
8th October, 2019 The festival of Dussehra was celebrated at Ashirwad with full enthusiasm. The students went to Sarabha Nagar to celebrate the occasion and were very delighted.
Diwali, the festival of lights is celebrated with full enthusiasm. We here at Ashirwad celebrate cracker-free Diwali and promote the concept of Green Diwali.
3rd December, 2019 The international Day of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) was celebrated on 2nd and 3rd December. The children along with the staff members took out a rally in Dugri, Phase 1. The students were walking, cycling and some were on wheelchairs along with participation from RLBS Autism Centre with students of Ram Lal Bhasin School in lead playing a drum.
25th December, 2019 Kids from Ashirwad rocked the stage with their Christamas caroling at Hyatt Hotel, Ludhiana for Christmas celebrations. They enthralled the audience by singing songs like 'Jingle Bells' and 'Mery Christmas' on the occasion.
16th January, 2020 The children of Ashirwad celebrated the occasion of Makar Sankranti with a Kite Flying Activity. They were all in high-spirits and full of zeal.
22nd January, 2020 No Fire Cooking Competition was organized at Ashirwad wherein the children prepared different food items of their choice using healthy ingredients. Mission Smile, a foundation working towards development of the needy, came over to Ashirwad to motivate the young chefs.
7th February, 2020 A free vision camp was organized for Ashirwad children at the organization. Dr. Gurvinder, from CMCH, Ludhiana with her team from Ophthalmology Department came over to do the checkup camp.
23rd February, 2020 The children of Ashirwad visited Technocare Nursery And Garden Centre, Ludhiana for a fest that was organized there. The students were enthralled to see a wide variety of plants and had a quality time there.
29th February, 2020 The students visited SCD Government College, Ludhiana for an exhibition. Ashirwad children had put up their own stall where they were offering food items which were prepared and sold by them on their own.
16th March, 2020 An awareness session was conducted by Dr. Neelam Sodhi on various topics including nutrition for women, personal health and safety. The session was attended by the organization staff who actively participated in the discussion and gained a lot of valuable knowledge.
21st June, 2020 A poster painting competition was held at Ashirwad on International Yoga Day. The children participated with full enthusiasm and made amazing artworks.
27th July, 2020 An online Rakhi Making Competition was organized by Ashirwad for all children. The theme for the competition was 'Best Out of Waste'.. The participants were asked to make a rakhi and send a picture of it.
12th August, 2020 Janmashtami is the festival that marks the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. We celebrated Janmashtami at Ashirwad where young kids dressed up like Lord Krishna and loaded the atmosphere with joy.
28th September, 2020 An online workshop on Music Therapy was conducted. The speakers for the workshop were Ms. Mehr Bhatti (a Psychology Graduate) and Ms. Pallavi Mehta (Certified Music Therapist) Music therapy is the use of music to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of a group or individual. It employs a variety of activities, such as listening to melodies, playing an instrument, drumming, writing songs, and guided imagery.
8th march, 2020 An informative session was conducted on International Women's Day. Dr. Neelam Sodhi addressed the audience on topics like nutrition, healthy diet and fitness.
8th March, 2020 A session was conducted by Dr. Neelam Sodhi on the topic 'Social Role Valorisation' on the occasion of International Women's Day. The parents who attended this session were motivated and made aware of all the social roles which their ward can aspire. They were asked to set attainable social goals which their ward would achieve within a given time period.
26th January, 2020 A warm gathering was arranged on the occasion of Republic Day. The Ashirwad children showed up with their parents in order to celebrate the national festival. The children were given the social message to always have "Love and Compassion" for their homeland.
6th May, 2021 A virtual Mehndi Design Workshop was conducted by Ms. Aarti Watts, administrator at Ashirwad. She taught children about different patterns and illustrations of Mehandi Designing and got an overwhelming response from the audience.
4th June, 2021 Free Vaccination Camp was organised at Hero Heart Centre for Specially abled and Handicapped people and was sponsored by Dayanand Medical College & Hospital. Mobilisation was done by partner NGOs of City Needs, Dr.Neelam Sodhi of Ashirwad, Mr. Yashpal Gupta (Bharat Vikas Parishad), Mr. Raman Goyal from Helping Hands Club, Round Table India, Dr.Sat Bhushan Pandit, Jeet Foundation.
A team of highly trained professionals visits Ashirwad on a weekly basis to assess the health of the children. Dr. Neelam Sodhi (Gynaecologist), Dr. Ravinder Singh Sodhi (Orthopaedic) and Dr. Vibhu J. Narad (Pediatric) are the respected members of the team.
9th May, 2021 On the occasion of International Mother's Day, a special session 'WakeUp and MakeUp' was conducted by Ms. Aarti Watts, administrator at Ashirwad. It was an online session wherein the children were taught how to apply makeup and they gave an amazing response.
15th August, 2019 The atmosphere was full patriotism as students of Ashirwad celebrated Independence Day. The students had prepared an act for the occasion and showcased their skills to the audience which was mesmerized by their act.
Every now and then someone is celebrating their birthday or other special occasion like anniversary at Ashirwad. The students here or outsiders, who wish to celebrate their birthday usually throw a celebration party where they spend a quality time with children. If you wish to celebrate your occasion at Ashirwad, then make sure to bring a small plant with you.
Regular dance classes are conducted at Ashirwad where the students learnt basic steps and moves. Professional choreographers are hired to train the students.
A special Athletic Meet for children with special needs was held in Ludhiana wherein the students of Ashirwad also participated and bagged various prizes. The students made an indelible impression on the audience that 'Nothing can stop them!'
Under vocational training, the students design ,colour and prepare different decorative items and items of utility like bags, diyas, pots, handcrafted shagun envelopes, etc. All products have been especially designed and made by children with Cerebral Palsy at Ashirwad
Even Covid-19 couldn't stop us!
We were fully operational in the online mode, what's been called as the new normal.
Regular classes are being conducted by Ashirwad teachers on Zoom. The students also have one on one sessions with them. All subjects are being taught to the children. The children are given regular homework and assessments.
Apart from this, regular training sessions, webinars and guest sessions for the staff are also being conducted so as to keep their knowledge up to date.
