Ashirwad, a unit of the North India Cerebral Palsy Association (NICPA), is a pioneering institute that commenced its functioning in September 1999 with an objective of providing therapy services to children with cerebral palsy. However, the commitment of the executive members took it to a different level and now it is a prominent cross-disability NGO of Punjab working for children and adults with developmental disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome, Autism and Multiple Disabilities.
Initiating its services to only three children, Ashirwad has till date brought about a commendable change in the lives of more than 1600 individuals with disabilities, as well as their families, across the state. Going by the famous quote that says "Hope sustains life", we take pride in reiterating that Ashirwad has given "hope" to many....
Over the last twenty years there has been a shift from the medical to the social model of understanding disability. By observing and understanding this paradigm shift in the field of disability we have been able to integrate new perspectives into our work. It is indeed a matter of pride to share that having started from rehabilitation, Ashirwad has successfully defined its role to an organization that takes a rights based approach to disability.

Our Vision
Our ambition is to move from 'Dependence to Independence' with the aim of inclusion of Persons With Disabilities in the mainstream society. We envisage a society free from biases which offers equal opportunities to each and every individual.
Our Mission
Our mission here at Ashirwad is to adopt a rights based approach. Our duty is to teach, to guide and to provide opportunities to persons with disabilities and their families so as to empower them to fight for their rights and pave their way for inclusion in the mainstream activities.

OUR INFRASTRUCTURE

Our administrator office is very well equipped to make sure that all the administrative activities within an organization run efficiently. All enquiries, appointments and first interactions are taken care of here.
We have a dedicated Physiotherapy room equipped with modern equipment used for treatment.
A Playzone within Ashirwad. Early Intervention room has different sorts of playful games, puzzles, books and much more!
We offer vocational training facilities to the students. Vocational training basically covers 5 major areas - Art & Craft, Cooking, Stitching, Music/Dance and Computer.
Our organic garden has a variety of fruits and vegetables like brinjals, ladyfinger, guavas, chikoos & mangoes. Other than this, we grow certain herbs and flowers as well.
We also provide conveyance facilities to the students who are in need of it. Those students, whose parents are unable to drop them off at the organization can avail this facility at minimal charges. The security of the child is fully taken care of.
